Suspension Lasting 10 days or Less – (A Parent Conference is Required for Re-Admission)
It is our intent that this suspension last no longer than ten (10) days. Please contact the school office and a conference will be arranged, at which time, you will be advised of your right to appeal.
Suspension that may justify more than a ten (10) day suspension – (REQUIRES a Hearing before the Bradley County Board of Education Discipline Review Committee.)
It is necessary that your case be reviewed by the Bradley County Board of Education Discipline Review Committee. You will be notified as soon as a date and time is identified. At the hearing you have the right to cross-examine adverse witnesses and the right to testify and present witnesses and evidence on the student’s behalf. You are further advised that you have a right to legal counsel, if you desire. Following the hearing, you will be notified of the Review Committee’s decision. Upon receipt of this notification, you have the right, if you desire, to appeal to (1) Director of Schools; (2) Bradley County Board of Education.
Suspension that may justify more than a ten (10) day suspension by the Principal or Assistant Principal. - (A hearing before the Bradley County Board of Education Discipline Review Committee is required ONLY if the suspension is appealed within five (5) days after the receipt of this suspension notice.)
If you wish to appeal this suspension, contact Terry McElhaney, Bradley County Schools at 476-0620 within five (5) days after receipt of this notice of suspension and a hearing before the Bradley County Board of Education Review Committee will be arranged. OR If you wish to apply for admission to the Bradley County GOAL Academy, please call the school at 476-0699 and request an application.
Zero-Tolerance Suspension - A suspension that may justify more than a ten (10) day suspension by the Principal or Assistant Principal. If you wish to appeal this suspension, contact Terry McElhaney, Bradley County Schools at 476-0620 within five (5) days of the receipt of this Notice of Suspension, and a hearing before the Bradley County Board of Education Review Committee will be arranged.
Suspension from the Alternative School – This student has not fulfilled the requirements agreed upon at the appeal hearing with the Director of Schools. Because of this, your child’s suspension will revert back to a Zero-Tolerance (365 day) suspension. Student may return to school on (May Return Date)
